This Privacy Policy is designed to comply with global privacy standards, including Google Play and Apple App Store requirements.

By using Hopenity, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use our application.

1. Information We Collect

To provide our social networking and donation matching services, we collect the following types of data:

a. Personal Information

• Account Data: Name, email address, phone number, password, and profile picture.
• Health & Demographic Data: Blood group, location, gender, date of birth, and availability status for donation.
• User-Generated Content: Posts, photos, videos, stories, comments, messages, and any other social content you upload or share on the platform.

b. Usage & Device Data

• Social Interactions: Likes, reactions, friends lists, pages followed, and chat history.
• Donation History: Blood requests created, donations claimed, and associated interaction records.
• Device Information: Device model, operating system, unique device identifiers (e.g., IDFA, Android Ad ID), IP address, and browser type.
• Diagnostics: Crash logs, performance data, and other diagnostic data to fix bugs and improve stability.

c. Location Data

We collect precise and approximate location data (if permitted by you) to connect blood donors with nearby recipients in urgent need, and to suggest locally relevant posts and pages. You can control this via your device settings.

2. How We Use Your Information

We process your data for the following purposes:

• Core App Functionality: Creating and managing your account, displaying your social feed, allowing you to share media, and facilitating real-time chat.
• Connecting Donors & Recipients: Using location and blood type to securely match those in need with eligible donors nearby.
• Platform Communication: Sending push notifications for urgent blood requests, friend requests, messages, and platform updates.
• Safety & Security: Moderating user-generated content, preventing abuse, spam, or fraud, and ensuring platform integrity.
• Analytics & Improvement: Analyzing crash data and usage patterns to fix bugs and enhance the user experience.

3. Information Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. We only share data in these scenarios:

• With Other Users: Your profile (name, photo, blood group) and public social posts are visible to the Hopenity community to facilitate donations and social interaction.
• Service Providers: We use trusted third-party services for cloud hosting (e.g., Bunny CDN), push notifications (Firebase), and analytics. These providers are strictly bound by confidentiality agreements.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law enforcement, court orders, or to protect the safety of our users.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services.

• Account Deletion: You hold the right to delete your account and associated personal data at any time. You can request account deletion directly within the App via the Settings > Privacy Settings menu. You can also submit a Data Deletion Request via email.
• Content Removal: You can delete individual posts, photos, or comments at any time. Deleted content is immediately removed from public view.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including SSL/TLS encryption for data in transit, secure server infrastructure, and strict access controls to protect your data from unauthorized access or disclosure.

6. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your region (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request the deletion of your data (Right to be Forgotten).
• Export a portable copy of your data (Data Portability).

7. Cookies & Tracking

We use essential and analytics cookies on our web platform to maintain user sessions and understand site traffic. We do not use third-party tracking cookies for targeted advertising without your explicit consent.

8. Children's Privacy

Hopenity is intended for users who are at least 16 years old or the minimum legal age to donate blood in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we discover a child under 13 has provided us with personal info, we will promptly delete it.

9. Policy Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, particularly regarding how we handle your user-generated content or location data, we will notify you through the app or by email.
